♦ WELLINGTON RUGBY UNION. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union was held last evening, Mr. E. Davy in the ohair. Ifj was decided, at the request of the Cricket Association, to poat as defaulters sov< ral members of cricket clubs who are in arrears with their cricket subscriptions, and Who are now playing football. 'It was decided to oall for tenders for forming a footpath from the Gear Company's grounds at Petone to tho dividing fence in the blind street off Jaokson-street. Mr !?. Nipholla was elected to tho vacancy on the Senior Match Committee oansed by the resignation of Mr. T. S. Ellison. The Referees' Association wrote asking the Union to take steps to see that the players were better acquainted with the rules. It waß deoided to ask Ut. J. P. Firth to deliver a leoture to players on. the rules, and also to ask the various clubs to request the captains to call the teams together, and discuss the rules with them. It was deoided to pay £i 2s, the amount levied on the Union to meet the deficit on the past two year's working of the Kew Zealand Union. All the championship matches except one between St. Patrick's College and another club were declared off. Mr, W. M'Kenzie w»s authorised to make amtneements for the 1 lying off of Nos. I, 2, 3, 4, and 5 grounds at Petone, and also the ereotion of goal posts and touoh flags on those grounds.
