The chief oharaoter is » type of "now woman" editress of s> sooiety paper oalled The Dart, who is very muoh in love with her young husband Wilfred Grubb • (Mr. Orlando paly). She strongly resents the manner ia which her husband is monopolised by a soft-headed member of Parliament, one Simon bimplej who takes him away to his «Jub and to thai House. She' thereupon seeks to revenge herself upon Simple by involving him in a variety of complications with his wife (Miss Dallas) and his virago of a mother-in-law (Miss Clayton). To Simple, Mrs. Grubb finally makes violent love, with the idea of arousing her husband's jealousy and so winning baak his love. This terribly embarrasses the muoh-sat-upon member, who is involved in trouble all i-ound, but who is finally reconciled with hib wife, suppresses the mother-in-law, and sees the Grnbbs restored to eaoh other's arms, while a oomio waiter (Mr. Meymott) knd Patty (Miss Mostyn), a pert domeatio, who have had their share in the pompljoationß, are permitted to unite in their persons the two Louies. The audience laughed heartily over the variont situations, but the pieoe would be more 'effective if played -more briskly, ttiss Moityn's Patty wa« not equal to her boy parts, and the best played part was tli»t 3f the waiter. Mils Eaynham as the compromising editress of" The Dart" played with . considerable dakh, and with Miss Mostyn and. Mr. Meymott ("The Nipper* Lullaby") contributed songs.
