ST RUCK OFF THE R OLLS. LEONARD HAMPER'S CASE.

In the Court of Appeal this morning, before the Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Conolly, and Mr. Justice Denmston, Mr. Hauelden, on behalf of the Canterbury Law Sooiety, moved to strike the name of Leonard Harper, late of Christohuroh, off tbe roll of barristers and solicitors of the Supreme Court of New Zealand He explained that the motion was made upon the same affidavits as were u&ad in the case of George Harper and Thoa. Maude. The Chief Justice said the whole matter was entirely in the hands of the Court. The distinction betwe»n the oases of the two members of tbe firm who had already been struck off the roll, and the present case was that Leonard Harper had a full knowledge of all that was going on, and was tbe instigator of what had taken plaoe. It was therefore unnoessary to go into the oiroumstances again. The motion would be granted. Mr. Haselden asked that 20 guineas oosts should be allowed to the Canterbury Law Sooiety. The Court allowed £10 10s in addition to the coßts of service.
