CHARGE AGAINST A RATE COLLECTOR.
[By TBLxaßAPH.— Puehb Association.] Chbibtchukch, 14th May. # A charge of embezzlement has been laid by Mr. Greville, Government Auditor, against J. Heard, City Rate Collector. It is alleged that a shortage of JBI9I has been discovered in the aooounts. This Day. John Turner Heard, late City tfate Collector, was charged with having stolen .£22 belonging to the City Connoil. As he was only arrested yesterday he was remanded till Tuesday next. BaU was allowed—himself in .£IOO and two snroties of £50.
