« JAPAN'S SURETIES FOR PAYMENT OF THE INDEMNITY. jPBISS ASSOCIATION. I London, 15th May. A St. Petersburg telegram declares that Japan claimß the right to hold Fort Arthur until half the indemnity is paid, Weihaiwei until the whole is paid, and Corea until a settled condition prevails in the country and its independence is scoured.
