THE VOLUNTEERS.
♦ A capital mnstor of the City Rifles paraded last evening for Government inspection, 55 of all ranks being present on parade under command of Captain Collins, with whom was Lieut. W. 6. Duthie. Tbe Garrison Band was also present in full strength, under Bandmaster Herd. In the absence of Lieut. Colonel Newall, Captain Collins acted as Inspecting Officer, and Sergeant - Major Finn represented the Government. After the inspection the corps, headed by the band, proceeded for a march out through the oity, and on its return was exeroised along the line of route. Orders for tbe month of May were isßued. Sergt. Madeley was appointed Orderly Sergeant and Corpl. Harris Orderly Corporal for the current month. Signalling and ambulance squads will be formed after next parade. ;
