That the City Counoil be asked to allocate a space for porters handcarts in the row Bhelter. The regulations provide that four expressmen and fonr porters with handcarts (m addition to bona fide hotel portere), bo permitted to go down the wharf to each steamer as she arrives* in port. The Committee further recommends that touts for hotels and boardinghouseß bo not allowed on the wharf unless they are lioensed as portere or vehicle drivers, that as far aa poßeible tho regulations for the wharves apply to Jervois - quay, that the weight permitted to Bpring ! oatta, including load and weight of vehiole, be from 2i to 2f tons ; and that iron gates and fences be ereoted, enclosing the Queen's wharf from the Brandon-street entranoe to the south of the new shed O, to be ereoted at Jervois-quay.
