Tho Dorcas Society hold 45 meetings during r the year. Tho number of workers is 675, ' and tho average attendance 15J. Ihe number of garments made at Doroas was 329. The work of outting out has been done by Mrs. Annie Anderson, assisted by Mrs. Petherick, who at present is ill. An exoellent feature in tho f Aseooiation ia that of the Three-garment s Sooioty, introduced by Miss Dnnoan. The committee are under a deep debt of grati0 tudo to the Johnsonville Doroas, the members of whioh are— Mesdames Mildenhall, 3 Winter, Cook, Rod, and Bannister. The j committee thank the Hutt Doroas — through • Mrs. Eansomo— for some very acceptable presents. The report in connection with the Cottage Home states that the results co far have been "most gratifying. Acknowledgments are made to Mils Ookenden, the matron of 1 the Home, for her devotion and ability. ■ Dr. Pollen kindly visits the Home from [ time to time, and attends to any case . brought to him by the Matron. Mr. C. ■ Hulke, sohoolmaster at Newtpwn State ! School, has been unfailing in bis generous ; kindness to the Home, and Mrs. Stevenson ' has taught all the elder frirls to knit stook- ; ings. There are now 20 ohildren in the , Home, whose ages vary from 12J to 3 years. i Different members of the 'committee visit , the Home every week to help in the needle- . work, read to the ohildren, Ac The Trne- . tees of the Benevolent Institution have . granted a lease of the orphanage acre at i Berhampore, and, provided a satisfactory . title to the land can be obtained, the Levin . Memorial Committee have agreed to allow ; the funds at their disposal to be devoted to the erection of a suitable Children's Home thereon. The building will probably cost not less than £1100, and the oommittee will be very grateful for any subscriptions to the fund. , The report in oonneotion with the Alexandra Horns states that the admissions daring the past 12 months were more numerous than in any previous year. The Matron (Miss Finoh) has worked well, and thank* are due to Dr. Ewart for medical attendance, and Arohdeacon Stook for holding religions lervioes.
