SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS.
c Karori—At this meeting the report, expressing satisfaction at the work for the past year, was read and adopted, and a hearty vote of thanks was given to the Hon. Secretary (Mr. John Evans), and the head teacher and teaching staff. Regret was expressed that Mr. Lancaster, who for many years has been a member of the Committee, was prevented from offering himself for re-election. The ballot for the new Committee resulted in tho election of Messrs. Campbell, Monaghan, Evans, Bnlkley, Cathie, Davis, and Platt. At a subsequent meeting Mr. R. C. Bulkley was elected Chairman, and Mr. J. Evans Hon. Secretary, for the ensuing year. Newtown—Mr. J. W. Davis has been oleeted Chairman, and Mr. E. Thornton Seoretary of the new Committee for Newtown. Johnsonville. — The annual meeting of householders was presided over by Mr. G. G. Wilson, the Chairman of the retiring Committee. A roport of the Committee's financial position and of the school's progress was submitted, and was adopted, on the motion of Mr. O'Neil, seconded by Mr. Cook. The following were elected a Committee for the ensuing year :— Messrs. Cook, Corlet, Chapman, Dawson, Moore, O'Neil and Wilson. Mr. Wilson was re-elected Chairman and Treasurer, and Mr. Corlet Secretary. It was decided to hold meetings quarterly, on the third Monday in June, September, December, and Maroh. Paikakariki—Messrs. Larson, W. F. Peters. Walhvceviile — Messrs. F. A. Clifford (Chairman), W. Gome, H. Alexander, W. Bnrroll, J. Gorrie (Seoretary and Treasurer). Pahautanui—Messrs. J. Pearce (Chairman), W. Leßlio, A. Bradey, C. Bradey, W. Jones, W. N. Staoe, F. Bradey, jun. (Troasnrer). Khandallah—Messrs. George Clark (Chairman), C. T. H. Browne (Seoretary and Treasurer), W. Moore, W. Pearce, A. Watt, S. C. G. Viokers, and J. H. Richardson. Taita—Messrs. Mellow (Chairman), Buck (Seoretary), S. and A. Death, Daßh, Hooper, and BuEsell. Grey town North—The election resulted as follows :—A. V. Grace, and W. H. Dud. dams, 23 j W. A. Varnham, H. Walden, and J. R-. Niool, 22; E. H. Trottman and S. Kedwell, 20; A. L. Webster and W. A. Kowse, 19.
