SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS.

Tho annual meetings of householders fo> the election of School Committees wore hel last night throughout the Wellington Educational District. We append details of the proceedings: — TERRACE. The chair at the meeting of Terrace householders waa occupied by Mr. George Loslie in the absence of the Chairman of the outgoing committee, the Rev. H. Van Staveren. The report stated that the present number of children on the roll was 572, th<avorago attendance for the past quarter having been 496, the best attendance the school had ever had. For the Maroh quarter the attendance was very regular, the average having be»n 88 per cent, of the roll number. The following were eleoted a Committee for tho year: —Rev. H. Van Staveren, Messrs. J. B. Evans, G. Leslie, G. Mcc, John Scott, W. G. Runeie, W. E. Woods, D Wighton, and J. M. Geddia. The Chairman referred to the necessity for an additional playgronnd, and expressed a hope that all parenta would urge upon the City Council to adapt the Town Belt near the school to recreation purposes for the ohildren. Votes of thanks were passed to the retiring committee, and the headmaster and his staff. The new committee met afterwards, when the Rev. H Van Staveren was elected Chairman, and Mr. J E. Evans Hon. Secretary and Treasurer. Several parents testified to the able manner in which both these gentlemen had filled the offices in question during the paat year.
