The Post Office was broken into, and the safe taken away bodily, containing 27s in cash, .£ll7 in stamps, and postal notes to the value of £61 125. Next to the Post Office stood an express in a yard for sale. The burglars took advantage of this cart to get the safe away. Yesterday being the laßt day for the payment of the Land Tax, about .£1540 was taken. Fortunately it was banked during the day. At present the affair ii shrouded in mystery, but the police have the matter in hand.
