THE ASSOCIATION TOURNAMENT.

Chbistchubch, 30th August. The annual Association Football lournament commenced to-day at Lanoaster Park, when Canterbury met and defeated Otago by 3 goals to 1. The weather was dull and cold, but the ground was in fairly good order. Wilson, Maude, M'Millan,and Montgomery played splendidly throughout for Canter* bury. Peters kept the goal excellently for Otago, and Smith, Wataon, O'Connor, and the M'Millan brothers were prominent all through. Canterbury will play Wellington on Saturday.
