Auckland, 30th August. At n fancy dreßS oarnival &t the Columbia Skating Kink, an accident happened to Miss M'Carthy. of Parnell, who was in a costarae representing " Snow." Her dress caught fire, owing to it being very inflammable material, when the wearer approached too close to one of the gas jets, the result being that the young lady was painfnlly burned about the face, neck, and shoulders before the flame conld be extinguished
