TRAINS IN COLLISION.
» ONE MAN KILLED AND ANOTHER INJURED. I UNITED FBKSS ASSOCIATION. I Milbodbni, 29th August. A serious railway collision has taken place at Baddaginnie, about twelve miles from Sandhurst. A goods train from Benalla dashed into a stationary goods train from Melbourne. The engine of the incoming train was thrown from the rails and badly smashed, a fireman named Campbell being killed instantly and the driver, Cherry, badly injured. The guard also received a severe shaking. Fortunately the driver and fireman of the stationary train were temporarily absent from the engine. It is alleged that the cause of the accident was disregard of the signals.
