Lily Stiles, widow, of Richmond, committed suicide on 17th August by taking a dose of prussio ai'id. The circumstances of the oase are remarkable. In Juno last, James Stiles, the late husband of the deceased, committed suicide by taking poison. He was a chemist, and had carried on business at Richmond for years. Unfortnnate speculations and investments had involved him in financial embarrassment, and at last he was called upon to redeem some mortgages or yield the possession of his business to his creditors. The worry of the position was more than he could bear, and he finally, on Ist June, poisoned himself. Mra. Stiles at that time was just becoming convalescent after childbirth, and the death of her husband affected her greatly. She was permitted by the orcditors of her husband's estate to oooupy the premises. Recently j however, other arrangements were determined upon, aud Mrs. Stiles, like her deceased husband, found herself unable to face the trouble which threatened her. She became bo ill that a friond had to be called in. to nurßO her, and on the 17th found her in bed dead. On a chair beside tbe bed was a glass containing a small quantity of prnssio acid. The deceased leaves throe young children.
