!Bt Tilbobaph.) (Our Own Correspondent.) Nas*bt, 25th August. The largest eooial gathering erer known in Naaeby was held last night in honour of Mr. Ecobio Mackenzie. Upwards of 300 peopl* Bat down to the banquet. In his speeoh, Mr. Mackenzie alluded to the Pomahak* Enquiry before the Waste Lands Committee, and said he had been " invited " to attend it, and he would be happy to accept the inxitation. He commented in strong terms on the composition of the Committee, the members of vrbichj he said, wore actually chosen by the Minister whose case was going to be tried by it, and oat of 12 members, inolud•ing, himself , only four were Oppositionists. It w«& as if. Santo, the assassin, had been allowed to choose his own jnry, and had it paoked with two-thirds Anarchists. He regarded the Committee as a Parliamentary farce, and he could almost undertake to write its report beforehand without being 50 words wrong.
