A military hero, Sergeant-Major Lloyd, has been recommended for the Victoria Cross for his gallant conduct in the operations carried out by the Burmah military police in the Kaching Hills during 1892-93, on which occasion the 'fighting is officially reported as having been more severe than any which has occurred since the annexation.
