BE A MAN.
Foolish spending is the lather to poverty. Do not be ashamed of hard work. Work for the best salary or wages you can get, but when you can't get a big salary, work for a small one rather than be idle. IJo your own master, and do not let society or fashion swallow up your individuality, blood, bone and boots. Do not eat or wear all that you earn. Compel your selfish body to spare something for a rainy day. Be stingy to your own appetite, but merciful to others' necessities. Help others, and ask no help for yourself. Be proud, but let your pride be of the right kind. Be too proud to be lazy ; to proud too give up without at least attempting to conquer every difficulty ; too proud to wear a coat you cannot afford to pay for.
