St. Petersburg, 14th November. The Russian Government has bought the trunk railways, with the view of utilising them for strategio purposes. It has also been decided to build 26 new torpedo boats. Paris, 13th Novomber. M. Piou, a member of the Chamber of Dopnties, asserts that tbe Pope was primary promoter of the Franco-Russian alliance.
