Mr. Duthie, speaking at the Shipwrights' dinner last ni?ht, reiterated the statement which ho publicly inado somo time ago, that it is improbable that ho will offer himself for re-election. We aro informed that numbers of Hutt settlers in filling up their forms of registration claim, are addressing them to the Registrar for tbe Hntt, overlooking the fact that there is now no electorate bearing that name. Residents in tho Hutt Valley are now livingin either tbe Suburbs of Wellington constituency, or if far enough up the Valley are olictors of Otaki. The definition of boundaries 13 as fo'lows : — Wellington Suburbs comprisos tho KaroriMakara Road District, the Scatoun Road District, the Porirua Riding of Hutt County, and that part of Epuui Riding of Hutt County which lies south-west of the road commencing at tho northern boundary of section 436, Hutt District, and proceeding southerly, passing sections 438. 433, 431. to and along the valley of the Western Hutt, below Belmont, together with the Boronghs of Melrose, Onslow, Karori, Lower Hutt, and Petone. Jobnsonville Town District is in this electorate, and the islands of Mana and Somes. Otaki comprises Horowhenua County, the whole of Manawatu County excepting tfce pdrtion of Mount Stewart Biding which lies east of the road from Halcombe to Palmerston, by way of sections 93, 94, ami 77, block 13, Orona Survey District, together with the ridings of Mungaroa, Waiuu'-o-mata, and Horokiwi of Hott County, and that portion of Kpn»i Riding situated to the north-east of the road leadinjT'northwards from the Borough of Lower Hutt past Belmont and np the valley of tho Hutt throngh sections 51, 425,203,428,431,336,435, 434, and 433, to seotion 436, and via the last-mentioned section to Horokiwi Riding. This district comprises also the Borough of Foxton and Kapiti Island. Mr. F. H. Kraser replies through our ad. vprtising columns to a requisition from 200 oity elector*. He consents to become a candidate. in answer to enquiries from tho Upper Hutt, we may repeat that the Registrar of Electors for the Otaki electorate i& Constable O'Roorke, who is stationed at Otaki. The Petoue Temperance Union his -resolved to make a personal house to house canvass of the borough, bo as to ensure the registration of all women entitled to have their names placed on the Electoral Roll.
