WELLINGTON MEAT EXPORT COMPANY.

An extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of the above company was held at noon to-day in the Chamber of Commerce, Mr. W. C. Buchanan in tho chair. Tho object of the meeting was to confirm a resolution passed at tbe extraordinary general meeting held on 30th August, fixing tho number of directors at not leas than five and not nioro than seven. Mr C. Pharazyn moved the confirmation of the resolution, which was ca ricd. This concluded the businoss of the extraordinary .meeting, Tho adjourned annual meeting was then held, tho business being- to olect .directors for the ensuing year, i Mr. G. M. Kebbell moved that the following be appointed : — Mesßra. W. O. Buchanan, M.H.R., C. B. Izard, C. Pharazyn, ~f. Ct. Foster, and J. W. Marshall. The Hon. Q. M'Lean thought the direetcrswonld either have to buy sheep or shut — up. Mr. O. Pharazyn said that, speaking for himself, and also for the Chairman, they had really lost by purchasing stook and selling to the Company. Ho had sold his freezers for the next five years, and therefore he had no interest in buying or selling sheep. He personally would like to bo relieved of the labour of being a direotor of tho Company, but thought as tho directors (not by their own fanlt) had got the Company into tho difficulty, they should endeavour to get them out of it. Mr. W. Q. i'oßter assured the Company that the Loan and Mercantile Company bad never mado a half-penny by my purohases of stook he had made on behalf of tho Meat Company. After further lisoussion the motion for the eleotion of Jirootors was agreed to, and the mooting idjourned. .
