HntchiußS. Consideration was given by the Managing" Coramitteo of the Wellington Kugby Uniou last evening to the letter of the Poneke Club asserting a right to appoint Mr. H. Hare its lino umpire in any of its matches. The Committee passed tho following resolution :—": — " That Mr H. Hare be not allowod to act as line nmpire in any match under control of this Union, and that the attention of tho Poneke Club be drawn to Rule No. 17 of club contests, which reads as follows : — ' TLat tho Management Committee shall have power to deal with a'l matters cot provided for in these rules which may arise out of any contest played under these by-laws." Tlio resignation of Mr. Charles Knrlo as a member of the Management Committee was accepted with regret. Consideration of Mr. R. C. Sim's resignation as a member of the committee was deferred, as was also the question of sending a team to Blenheim, Nelson, and Palmerston. 'Ihe Wellington Club's matches wero postponed, [on account of the club's visit to Blenheim. It was announced that tho Petone Juniors, having forfeited two matches in succession, had dropped out of the contest. A meeting of the Council of tho Wellington Football Association took place at tho Waverley Hotel loht night, Mr. C. L. Gardiner in the chair. Kirkcaldie & Stains' Club put np for affiliation, and was duly elected. It was agreed to put in a second team, as a bye, if required by the New Zealand Football Association. It was agreed to entertain the vibiling teams after the tournament, and Messrs. Henderson, Jacks, and Gardiner were appointed a Committee to make arrangements. Tho meeting then decided that the Wellington team shall play in dark (instead of white) pants and white shirts. A motion that three non-club men be elected a Match Committee was loßt, and the following pcutltmon wero elected — Messrs. Levers, Gibbs, Shields, Gibbon, and Henderson. Mr. A. E. Gibba having been elected Hon. Troasnrer of tho N.Z.F.A., Mr. G. F. Wooldiidge was elected delegate to tho Association. Mr j. W. Abbott was elcctod a Vice-President. A matoh was played at Newtown Park yesterday af Lernoon between teams from the United Tradesmen's and St. John's clubs, resulting iv a win for the former by two points to nil. Tho try was obtained by Johnson. Mr. Geo. Rhodes, of Christehurcb, has accepted the position of President of the New Zealand Football Association.
