The Women's Franchise League at Wunganui pasiic-d the following resolution at a nipeting this evening :—": — " This League has learned with surprise and regret that Mr. Willis, in his speech on the Address-in-Iteply, while stating that he was bound to vote for Women's Franchise, sndeavonred to damage the cause by misleading statements, calculated to produce an impression that in this electorate the bulk of the nom»n weie opposed to the ref.irm ; that the contrary is the case is abundantly shown by the fact that, against his own convictions and those of many of his leading supporters, Mr. Willis judged it expedient to pledge his support. This Loague trnsta Mr. Willis will loyally fulfil his pledge, and while regretting the inaccuracy of his words as published in Hansard, hopes their misleading character was rathor the result of inadvertence tlun of intention."
