Suicide in Despair.
[Bt Telegraph. J | united press association. i Dunbdin, This Dat An inquest was held to-day on the body of Nelson 1 hompson, contractor, of Arrowtown . It was Btated that deceased was despondent because the medical men gave him no hope that a proposed operation for throat disease would be eueoesßfnl. He therefore thought it as well to die without undergoing it. Lost night hia hat was found, with an envelope giving his name, hung on the door-handle of one of the wharf buildings, and his body was found in the harbour. He leaves a wife and family. A verdict of Temporary Insanity was returned.
