A great sensation has been caused by the publication of a statement alleging that a million and three-quarter marks of the Guelph Fund have been distributed among Ministers, newspapers, and leading officials. The statement, however, lacks confirmation. Bcbel, the Socialist leader, declares that he possesses proofß of the Guelph bribery, 'and that one hundred thousand marks were distributed during tho time of Prince Bismarok's term of office. Many documents, he alleges, wore burnt, but some are left. JWany intimate friends of Prince Ludwig of Bavaria are said to be implicated.
