COLLAPSE OF ANOTHER BUILDING SOCIETY.
I UNITED rBEBS ASSOCIATION. I Melbourne, 10th July. Tho Victorian Mutual Building Society has suspended payment. The half-yearly meeting was hold only last week, but no dividend was declared, .£12,000 being caxried forward to next yoar's account. Heavy withdrawals have taken place since, and tho directors felt themselves bound to snspend payment, at all events for a time. _ The position of the Society has not beon disclosed, but tho directors declare that the institution is perfectly sound.
