The award of Mr. Gavin, Assistant Con-troller-General, in the arbitration between I the Counties of Cook and Waipu, hoB been received. The award is that Cook County shall h 'Id all real and personal property, and Waipn County shall pay Cook X 322, its *hare of the liabilities of tbe late County Cook in 6XOOBB of assets thereof. This is a judgment entirely in favour of Cook, a3 Waipu contended that it was not liable for tha old County's liabilities, as it had not h-therto received moneys allocated to it. 'I he matter is likely to go on for appeal to the irupreme Court.
