It waa reported that twelve branches are taking np the work of helping the female viotims of the drink traffic A largely attended meeting of ladies was held in the Provincial Counoil Chambers to-night, under the auspices of tho Union, to advocate female franohiee. Mr. R. Saundera, Dr. M'Bein Stewart, and the Reva. Oliver and Isitt spoke, and a motion waa passed expressing sympathy with the desire of women for the franchise.
