Trinity College Musical Examinations.
? The presentation of certificates to the looal musical students who gained them at the last examinations in oonneotion with Trinity College, London, took place yesterday afternoon in St. John's Schoolroom. The spacious hall was comfortably filled by the students who had taken honours, and thoir lady friends, but it was notioeable that but few gentlemen were present. The chair waß occupied by tho Pr-. W. J. Habens, Inspeotor-General of .baucution, and with him on the platform were Mr. J. B. Blair, Chairman of the Education Board, Eev. J. Paterson, and Mr. R. Parker, one of the examiners. The names of the ladies and gentlemen who have taken honours appeared in the Evening Post of Saturday last. The report of the «xaminers, whioh generally waa of a satisfactory charaoter, was, at the request of tho Chairman, read by Mr. B. Parker. The Chairman at considerable length addressed the meeting, his theme 1 being the advantages of the cultivation

The distribution of the certificates was made by the Chairman, who, at the request of Mr. Parker, presented Miss Elsie Williams with a couple of volumes, in addition to her certificate, as a recognition of her having taken hish honours in tho junior class. The Rev. J. Paterson, in a few felicitously chosen words. ad« dressed the students, congratulating those who bad been succos n ful in taking honours, and urging those who had failed to again enter the lists at the next examinations. 1 he proceedings were brought to a conclusion by the passing of ft vots of thanks to the Chairman.
