COMMENCEMENT OF THE SCOTTISH ACTION.
fBPECIAL.I (Received October 30, 1.25 p.m.) London, 21st October. The Attornoy-Goneral reiterated his atatemont that tho Parnell letters were authentic, and admitted that they were purchased by The Times. Proceedings have been opened in the aotion, Parnell v. The Times, in the Court of Session at Kdinburgh. Sir R. E. Webster, in his opening addresa, said that tho money Bubsoribed in America in aid of the Land League was withheld until Michael Davitt could induce Parnell to approve of the violent programme drawn up.
