THE WAIPAWA EXHIBITION.
TO THX EDITOR. Sib— Just a line or two in reply to " Palmerston North." He quotes from the proßpootus of the Exhibition the clause re the non-responsibility of the promoters for loss by breakage, robbery, Ac Does the foolish follow not know that such a clause is always inserted by Exhibition promoters? But while ho waa quoting why did he not take the following from the prospectus : — " Seeing that so many valuable articles will be placed in the large main building, extraordinary precautions will be taken for fireprevention purposes'. Firemen will be on duty night and day, and engines and appliances ready to hand. There will also be an ample supply of water olose to tho building, from which hose will be laid. For security in other respects, special conttablea by day and watchmon by night will be on duty." Evidently " Palmerston North " is of a mean spirit, and having made a mistake will descend to any misrepresentation rather than acknowledge his error. I enclose my address. I am, Ac, One of the Promoters. Waipawa, 26th October, 1888.
