THE LATE TRADES DEPUTATION.
TO THB EDITOR. Sir— l notice in your issue of Bth inst. that a deputation waited on the Hon. J. Ballance for the purpose of obtaining a site for aTrades Hall, and, being somewhat interested, I would like a reply to the following questions, as I know of two of the largest societies who were not oongulted in the matter : — 1. What trades did the deputation represent? 2. At what meeting were they appointed a deputation ? 3. What are their intentions if a site is granted ? 4. Why were not all the societies in tho city consulted ? I think -it would have been better policy to see What Government were going to be in power before asking for a site. I am, &c, - SECRETARY TO ONI OF THE LABGEBT SOCIETIEB. ' : 10th September.
