On Saturday, the 21st inst., some very suooesaful experiments were made here, demonstrating the complete efficiency of the Harden Star Hand Grenades in extinguishing fire. Without going into detail, I may add that the Committee of the Asylum, in whose .presence the experiments took plaoe, wereeo satisfied of the value of the invention, that they ordered fifteen dozen of the Grenades for distribution throughout the Asylum. Dear "Sir, — On February Ist our watohman discovered a fire at the back of our boilers. When first he saw it the flames were about 6 feet high. He. immediately used one of your Grenades, which" checked the flames, put finding they were likely to break out again, he used another one, which completely put out the fire. The fire originated from some old bagging whioh had accumulated, and it is a very difficult matter to put that kind of fire ont, aa old bags in onr place are alwayß very oily. — Yours faithfully, Fosteb Bbos.
