Thomas Betts admitted having been drunk in Sydney-street on Saturday night. A previous con7iotion was proved against him, but the Bonoh only imposed the nominal penalty of ss. Charleß Donovan, alias Bryoa Wright, a young man, pleaded Guilty to 4 charge of having been drunk and disorderly in Marmora-street yesterday afternoon. Constable Christie stated that at 4 o'olook he saw the prisoner minus his coat staggering about the street and endeavouring to creato a disturbance. The Benoh fined acoused 20a and costs. A BAD BOY. John Shortall, alias M'Gregor, alias Dalton, was plaood in the dock oharged with the theft of two loaves of bread from the shop of Joseph Young;, baker, Haining-atreet. Ho admitted the offence. Inspector Goodall stated that the accused was a very bad boy, having boen several times in gaol. In faot, he was rarely out of gaol. Mr. Young, from whom the bread was stolen, did not wish to press the oharge, being anxious to give the boy another chance. Their Worships discharged the boy with a oaution. A VAGRANT. William Parnell was oharged with having been found by night on the premises of Thomas Q. M'Carthy, brewer, in Old Cus-tom-house-streofc. He pleaded Guilty. Constable Timothy O'Bourke proved tho offence, and Mr. M'Carthy stated that his premises had narrowly escaped destruction by fire through the carelessness of vagrants such as Parnell and others. A sentence of 14 days' imprisonment with hard labour was imposed.
