A procession numbering fully 5000 proceeded to Government House to-day, and presented a petition to his Excellency, Bigned by over 20,000 persons, praying for commutation of the capital sentence passed upon the prisoner Frank Johns, condemned to death for the murder of a fellow-prisoner in Parramatta Gaol.
