Sis— l hopi> the inquiry asked for re the Hospital contracts will be aone into and satisfactorily explained, as I tendered the lowest tender last year, which would have proved to have been a saving of over jBIOO, and I know also of another contraot (for milk) at the same time, wbioh, if the lowest had been aooepted, would also have been a saving to the country of over .£IOO. Hoping you will insert the above, as I know you are » lover of justice and fair play. I am, Ac, v Lowest Thndbrbr; Wellington, 11th July. TO TH» EDITOR. Slß,— Now that the enquiry re contracts is under discussion, perhaps some one would try and find out how the lowest tender for Hospital supplies last year was not accepted. Mr. C. J. Johnston spoke about it at the time, remarking that it would have been a saving ot over J6IOO to the Government, and there were no complaints against the lowest contractor, he having had a oontraot before. Hoping you will insert the above for the sake of Fair Play.
