[special to united press association.] (Received May 13, 9.30 p.m.) London, 12th May. It is understood that the million loan for New Zealand will shortly be placed on tho market. The Queensland loan is expected to be a success. In the House of Commons the Hon. G. J. Goschen will probably move the omission in the Federation Bill of clause 31, whioh provides for withdrawal of a colony. Captain Penrose, of the Engineers, has been selected as an officer to proceed to New Sonth Wales. The Australian trade' section in connection with the London Chamber of Commerce includes forty colonists, with Sir William Macorthur as chairman. (Received May 14, 0.45 p.m.) .London, 13th May. Japan and China aro preparing to prevent the Russians seizing Quelpaert, an island in the Yellow Sea, off the North-cast Coast of China. A Tasmanian loan is expected shortly. The general elections will probably take place in November next.
