In connection with the proposal to hold the prize firing in both islands, Major Sumpter has addressed a circular to the varions commanding officers, asking if they will arrange for the appointment of three delegates from each district to meet in' Duuedin on the 9th October, whp will decide on a central site for the annual competition, fix thp mogt Buitable date for the competition, so as not to interfere with harvesting qr shearing, and consider any other matter that may arise,
