A fund has been started for the relief of distressed Irishwomen. The Queen has subscribed .£2OO, and other large contributions have already been received. Intelligence is to hand from Tunis that certain Tunisian Government officials have forcibly expelled the workmen of Mr. Levy, a British subject, from the estate at Eufida, the ownership of wLich has for a lonj? time past been a dispute. After the removal of Mr. Levy's employe* tho Tunisians installed a nnmbor of French workmen in their place, and the latter are now in possession of the estate. Consols havo declined i, to 99£. New Zealand gecuritios are firm at last quotations. Colonial brcadstuffs and tallow are unchanged. Paris, 14th December. The French Ultramontane Press have lately published articles in reference to the situation of the Papal See. The papers concur in stating that the Pope's position has become unbearable, and that the question »f his Holiness' departure from Rome is now seriously mooted.
