RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
♦ This Day. (Before Mr. Mansford, R.M.) DUUNKENNBBS. Charlotte Smith was charged with drunkenness. As she expressed her contrition for the offence, and had been locked up all night, his Worship discharged hor with a caution. ALLEGED ASSAULT AND ROBBKRT. John Connell was charged with assaulting and robbing James Barron. Prisoner pleaded guilty to the assault, but said he knew nothing about the robbery. The police stated that shortly after midnight the prosecutor was assaulted and robbed of 17s. 6d. in Courtenty Place by two men. One man was still p.t large, and they asked for a remand, as thoy were not prepared to go fully into the caso at present. Prt9oner vras accordingly remanded till fo-morrow.
