The meeting at Parihaka has turned out a complete fiasco. The question of confiscated territory was not raised, and although some 2500 Maoris from all parts of the North Island I came to hear Te Whiti, and possibly see the fulfilment of some of bis prophecies, all they 1 could get from him was that " the expected one " (probably meaning Sbeeban) was not to hand.
