The French Minister of War hes resigned ; General Greeny succeeds him. The French madman who threatened to shoot the Queen is under detention in tbe Broadmoor prison for criminal lunatics. The distress among the operatives in the manufacturing districts is increasing. 15th January. The French Government '.has notified its ntention to terminate all treaties of commerce with England in January next. The Glasgow Bank has declared a dividend of 6s 8d in the pound. An explosion has occurred at the Pont-y-pritt mine; 58 were killed. A reduction in the discount rate is expected.
