AUCKLAND. 14th January.
John Sullivan, the ringleader in the recent strike of railway laborers at Ohaupo, was charged with using threatening and intimidating language to workmen employed on the Una. He pleaded guilty to the charge, and was sentenced to two months' imprisonment with hard labor. 15th January. At 1 o'clock the San Francisco mail steamer was not telegraphed. Instructions have been received here to detain the Taiaroa at Onehunga until to-morrow, in the event of the non-arrival of the mail steamer.
