AUSTRALIAN SUMMARY.

(Pm Pkbsb Asbhot.) (pbb ola cd hamilton at mokitzxa.) Mblboukhb, 37th December. There has been nothing but amusement* and festivity for the last few days, and Melbourne has been crowded with visitors. The Canterbury Cricketers were to have been received by a deputation from the _nt Melbourne Club, but the Arawata stack on a mudbank, and did net arrive in town till the next morning. Cricket is being played everywhere. The Pantomimes this year are not much good. The scenery is pretty good but very little in the way of novelty.
