The Te Kopua sawmills at Kaipara have been purchased by Brown, Campbell and Co. for £35,000. • The new wing of the lunatic asylum is estimated to cost £17,000.
Macfarlane will address his constituents on Tuesday evening. A grand review took place at Waikato to-day; 160 cavalry were present. The Waikato sportsmen, at a meeting last night, decided to have a Waikato Derby of loOsovs. in 1881. Father Hennebery last night severely attacked ex-priest Chiniquy. He denounced him as a liar, obtaining money under false pretences. The volunteers have agreed to defray the expenses of three representatives to Nelson.
