SALE OF ARCADE STALLS.

? Mr. F. Sidey, this afternoon, sold by auction the leases for twelve months of tho stalls in the splendid new building recently erected in Manners-street, and known as the Wellington Arcade. There was a very large attendance, and great interest appeared to bo felt in the undertaking. The sale was held in the spacious hall of the building, and commenced shortly after two o'clock, when the auctioneer having announced the terms and conditions of sale, and answered an immense number of questions put by intending bidders, the first lot, No. 1 stall, was offered, and started at a bid of 103 weekly rental, from which it rapidly advanced to 235, at which price it was knocked down to Mr. S. Bishop. Stall No. 2 was started at 20s and advanced to 225, the successful bidder also being Mr. S. Bishop. Lot 3 was started at 20s, and ultimately was knoked down at that rental to Mrs Grant. Stall No. 4 started at 15s and rapidly advanced to 20s, where it stopped, Mrs. Grant again being the purchaser. No. 12 stall was the next one put up, but did not elicit a bid, therefore was passed, as also was No. 13. No. 14 was started at 15s, and advanced by degrees to 20s 5 Mr. J.
