The schooner Fiery Cross has been, got off, and .is now in the river safe. / 'Vl< « J Fifteen persons have been nominated for Councillors. E. M. Smith has reported that last night one solid piece of metal and slag, about 30c wt., which was found m the furnace, was hauled to the top, and this morning taken oiit and <s*fely landed on the ground below. The furnace is now clear, aud is found to be not much damaged, aud masons are engaged in chipping off the glaze, preparatory to re-lining the crucible with fireclay and pulverisod firebrick, so as to leave the inside crucible even and without joints.
