BANKRUPTCY COURT. THIS DAY.

(Before his Honor the Chief Justice. ) IN RE ANN MULLINS AND THOMAS MULLINS. Mr. Quick moved for, a decree of complete execntion of a deed of assignment in the estate of Ann Mullins aud Thomas Mullins, of the Lower Hutt, storekeepers, made for the benefit of their creditors, the sole trustee being Archibald Paisley Stuart, in lieu of Thomas William Young and Ebenezer Henry Hunt, resigned. The bankrupt attended in person to oppose the order, but it appeared that his objection was not founded on any legal point, but on some misapprehension as to the facts of the case. He complained that his goods at the Upper Hutt had been disposed of by a forced sale at a great sacrifice, and that only for this he would have been able to pay the composition he first offered. Mr. Brandon said the creditors had been ready and willing to accept a reasonable composition, but so much difficulty was found in getting the bankrupt to sign any deed, or to make any definite arrangement, that they had become disgusted. His Honor explained to the bankrupt that his statement was not relevant to the motion before the Court. Mr. Quick's application was granted. On the application of Mr. Travers, the argument of" the rule nisi in re J. Berger was ordered to stand over. SAME EX PARTE GALLAGHER. -Mr. Shaw applied for the immediate payment of £14 6s 3d wages to J. Gallagher, storekeeper for the bankrupts at the Upper Hutt. Evidence of the liability was given. His Honor granted the application, subject to the question of preferential claims.
