LITTLE WANDERERS.
By John G. Smith.
At the golden gate of Heaven, Stood a little infant band, Travellers from a world of sorrow, Travellers to the tearless land. All their love —their friend and brother, All their hate—the stains of sin, All their wish—to hear the welcome — " Little wanderers enter in." Forth they stretch their tiny fingers, Sweet their silvery voices blend, Lambkins tender, they had followed Jesus, as their shepherd friend. Holy Snviour, thou hast brought v*, Thou hast washed away our 9in, Spri'ail thine arms ot love around us, T. ke us, " little wanderers in." Lays of Zinn—Hallelujah's, Echoed from the heavenly throng, Jesus over bin victorious, Was the theme of every song. Hark I amid the angel-anthems, Gentle accents thus begin — " Holy children come and welcomeLittle wanderers enter in." Invcrcargill, 10th April, 18G6.
The losses sustained during the past half-year by the New South Wales Assurance Company are unprecedented in the history of the company. 4000 negro troops in the service of the Vicei'oy of Egypt have mutinied. Orders were given that they should be decimated, and it is stated that 3000 were either massacred or sold into slavery.
