ELLESMERE CHAMPIONSHIPS
LEESTON WINS THE RINK
MATCHES
In the Ellesmere Bowling Association's championship series, matches for the fours were played at Dunsandel on Saturday. These resulted! in a win for the Leeston representatives—H. D. Jones, J. Bryce, J. Creagh and L. J. Walker. The first match was with Dunsandel— A. McGregor, Whitford, Ryde and K. Macpherson (sk). This resulted in a win for Leesfcan by 26 to 21. The Southbridge rink was composed of T. J. Carter, C. Tod, T. Griff en and D. W. Hayes, and the Leeston four won this match by 20 to 16. Next Saturday's matches for the pairs and singles will be played at Dunsandel. The Leeston representatives for the pairs will be R. Shave and E. A. Johnson. DICKSON BOWL A team from Ellesmere played a match with the Canterbury Centre on Saturday for the Dickson bowl. It was won by the Christchurch team by a good margin. ELLESMERE V. MALVERN For next Saturday a representative match between Ellesmere and Malvern has been arranged and will be played at Sheffield. The Leeston fours for the Ellesmere team have been selected as follows: Jones, Gargett, Creagh, Gwatkin (s); Owens, Bryce, Walker, Jackson (s).
